In the beginning, you could only use Apple Pay to order from the app. But as of now, you may use it to pay for all orders with Wendy’s, be it over the counter, drive-through, or delivery.
Wendy’s does not slap on additional charges if you use Apple Pay. The amount you will pay is similar to if you pay with cash or a credit card. This means you can enjoy the ease of paying without cash or without paying a premium.

How To Pay Using Apple Pay Over The Counter?
To pay at Wendy’s using Apple Pay, first make your order. Then tell the cashier you want to use Apple Pay. Bring your Apple device to the NFC card reader. After a beep sound, your device may require you to confirm your identity before making the funds transfer.
You can not pay for your orders over the counter at Wendy’s with Apple Pay. If you want to use Apple Pay for your purchases, Follow the following steps:
- First, check if the counter has signs that the restaurant accepts Apple Pay. All Wendy’s restaurants should be able to take Apple Pay. But just check again, in case.
- Order what you need with the cashier.
- Once you finalized your order, you should be told how much it will cost. You will also be asked how you want to pay.
- Mention Apple Pay to the cashier. The cashier should set up the cashier machine to take Apple Pay payments.
- When prompted by the cashier, bring your phone close to the NFC reader.
- You should hear a beep sound.
- At this point, your device should ask you to confirm your ID before proceeding with payment. It could be a passcode, fingerprint ID, or face scan.
- A notification should appear on your phone’s screen when the transaction works.
How To Pay With Apple Pay Through Drive-Thru?
Payments using Apple Pay at Wendy’s drive-through are the same over the counter. You place your order at the first checkpoint, pay at the second, and then pick up your order at the final checkpoint.
Apple Pay is also possible when ordering at Wendy’s drive-through. The payment process is similar to paying over the counter.
The difference may be that you will be paying with yourself in a car, which may have its own issues. For example, your car may be too far to reach the NFC card reader.
In that case, you can always ask for the NFC card reader to be handed to you. Just make sure to return it after you pay.
- Drive to the drive-through window and order your meal.
- After placing your order, you should be able to see how much you have to pay.
- Prepare your Apple device for your payment. Move to the second station.
- Tell the cashier that you prefer to pay using Apple Pay.
- You may be asked to bring your device close to the NFC card reader.
- If you cannot reach the NFC card reader, request for the machine to be handed to you. You do not need to get out of your car to pay.
- You may hear a beep once your device is close to the NFC reader.
- Your Apple device may require you to confirm your ID. This may be a passcode or fingerprint ID.
- A notification should appear on your phone when the transaction goes through.
- Pass the NFC card reader back to the cashier before going to the next checkpoint to pick up your order.

Paying With Apple Pay Wendy’s App?
Make your order, as usual, to pay with Apple Pay from Wendy’s app. Then during checkout, choose Apple Pay. You then select one of the cards in your Apple Wallet, and payment will be processed. If you want food delivered, you may need to use delivery apps such as DoorDash, UberEats, or Postmate.
You may also make payment from Apple Pay within Wendy’s app. The app allows you to order your favorite Wendy’s meal in multiple ways. You can order from the app, pick it up and eat inside the restaurant. You can also order the food and pick it up from the drive-thru.
If you want to complete your payment using Apple Pay, click on the Apple Pay button after you make your order in Wendy’s app. After that, complete the transaction using one of the cards in your Apple Wallet.
Wendy’s does not offer its own delivery service. You may need to order using specific delivery apps such as Postmate, DoorDash, or UberEats. You may use Apple Pay to pay for these orders and have your Wendy’s delivered to you.

You may look at the checkout counter to see if there is a logo that says ‘Apple Pay accepted.’ You can also ask the cashier directly. Another way is to check online if the business accepts Apple Pay. You may need an alternative payment method, such as a card or cash.
Generally, Apple Pay is accepted in a large majority of retailers nationwide. There are some notable holdouts who may not be able to agree with Apple to adopt the payment method. Major retailers such as CVS, Walmart, or Home Depot do not take Apple Pay.

First, you can always check online to confirm. You may go to the website and view the FAQ or search for the word ‘Apple Pay’ and see if there’s any mention of accepting Apple Pay.
Take A Look At The Checkout Counter
Suppose you just entered a store or restaurant. If that is the case, you may want to take a short and quick check over the checkout counter. See if there is a white Apple Logo beside the wording ‘Apple Pay Accepted.’ If you can see it, this merchant takes Apple Pay.
Ask Directly
Another way to quickly confirm it the merchant accepts Apple Pay is to ask directly. In some cases, merchants prefer to receive cash payments, as they do not have to pay fees to Apple. However, if you prefer Apple Pay, they will still process your payment using Apple Pay.
Prep Up Alternative Payments
